What is HR consulting?
Executive search refers to services that help companies develop and implement their human resource strategies. This includes activities such as executive searches, conducting talent assessments, developing recruitment strategies, and advising on human resource development and management. In contrast to executive search, the focus here is more on strategic advice and long-term support on human resource issues.

What is recruitment?

Staffing is a service where companies hire specialized agencies to find qualified workers for open positions. These agencies actively search for candidates who match the requirements of the position and then place them with the companies.
The cooperation between employers and recruitment agencies essentially consists of three steps:
A company commissions a recruitment agency to fill a specific position and specifies the requirements profile for the position.
Based on the profile, the recruitment agency looks for suitable candidates: To do this, it searches its own database of applicants. It also actively recruits, via job advertisements or on social networks, or approaches interesting candidates itself. The recruitment agency then sends the client a series of profiles, CVs or application folders from suitable candidates.
The client chooses suitable employees and the employment contract is signed.
Recruitment usually takes place in three steps:
-
The company instructs the recruitment agency to fill a vacant position and describes the requirements for doing so.
-
The recruitment agency looks for suitable candidates by searching its database, placing job advertisements or actively approaching candidates.
-
The recruitment agency presents the company with a selection of suitable candidates from which the company can then choose. Once a decision has been made, the employment contract is signed.
What does it cost?

As Berger Consultants, we offer various payment models.
Usually, we receive 1/3 of the annual gross salary of the position to be filled as a deposit when the order is placed.
A further third after 8 weeks and the remainder is due upon successful placement.
By arrangement, a search on a commission basis is also possible.
The recruitment agency then receives a performance-related commission from the employer. This is calculated based on the new employee's first annual salary. 20 to 30 percent is usual.
It is also possible to agree on a lump sum.
What are the advantages of the recruitment agency?
Employers benefit from working with recruitment agencies in several ways:
-
Less effort: The recruitment agency takes over many time-consuming tasks such as searching for candidates, reviewing applications and pre-selecting, which saves the company time and resources.
-
Potential cost savings: Internal recruitment can be expensive, especially for difficult-to-fill positions. Working with a recruitment agency can reduce these costs, as commission is often only paid if the position is successful.
-
Faster filling: Recruitment agencies have large candidate databases and can therefore often fill open positions faster than internal recruitment teams.
-
Access to specialized candidates: Recruitment agencies often have access to a wider pool of candidates, including those who are not actively looking for a job. This allows companies to find suitable employees even for difficult positions.
-
Expert advice: Recruitment agencies often offer advisory services on employment law and contract drafting, helping companies avoid legal pitfalls and build effective working relationships.

It makes sense to hire a recruitment agency if:
-
There is a lack of internal resources, such as a lack of human resources or recruiters who are already at full capacity.
-
There is time pressure to fill one or more positions quickly.
-
These are positions with special requirements for which suitable specialists are difficult to find.
-
Discretion is required and the company does not want the search for new employees to become known.
